Paper machine guide rolls are categorized into blanket guide rolls and web guide rolls in terms of application. The application parts include pressing, drying, curling, rewinding and other parts. The guide rolls used in the net and press sections are generally covered with rubber. The guide rolls used in the drying section are called transmission guide rolls, which are generally not covered with rubber and are thicker than ordinary guide rolls. The guide rolls guide and drive the screens and felts in the wet end and dry section of the paper machine. The same bearings are used for the guide rolls in both areas. In modern paper machines, both sections are lubricated with oil circulation. Due to the different working conditions, the wet end and dry section need to use their own oil circulation lubrication.
